Free Gifts For Centurion Members

Over the years American Express has sent out a lot of free gifts to its Centurion card members. It is something that is not advertised as a perk, but American Express quite often sends out targeted gifts. My understanding from posts on flyertalk.com is that these free gifts are for personal cardholders, not Centurion Business cardholders. I know we have several readers who are Centurion Business members, so correct me if I am wrong.

To my knowledge, the last gift AMEX sent out, this past Nov/Dec, was a Cannon PowerShot SD850, 8.0MP camera valued at ~$250. Pretty sweet gift if you ask me, especially at Christmas time. I wonder if anyone re-gifted this and gave it to someone as a Christmas present? My guess is yes.

Other recent gifts have included:

I heard others have received books, notebooks, stationary, wine, and perfume. It is also my understanding that in order to receive these gifts, you have to be opted into the marketing promotions program. If you are a black cardholder, and haven’t received any gifts, I would definitely call your service rep and check about opting into this program. Any readers received any other gifts not listed here?

The $2,000 Judith Ripka gift card was sent out in late 2006. Last year it was $1,000 gift card from van Cleef & Arpels.

I think it’s only for the us centurion card members.
I called today centurion IDC they have no information about the gifts.

Not really a gift…. but when i didn’t receive my black card with in 24 hours my agent did credit my account $150

Amex just gave out a $500 Barneys New York Gift card with no minimum purchase
