Even More Free Black Card Gifts

It appears that good things come in groups of 3.  First, Amex recently sent Centurion members a Mikimoto gift card, and now they just recently sent 2 more things out.  A few days ago I received word that several members had received a $500 credit at the Wynn Tower Suites, which can be used toward rooms.  There have been a lot of discounts popping up for Vegas and this one is a pretty good one.

In addition to the $500 Wynn credit, I just got an email today from someone saying they just received a $500 gift card to Domenico Vacca, where Men’s suits start around $4,900.  Here is a picture below of Jacob the Jeweler (left - who was recently sentenced to 16 months in prison for laundering money for the Black Mafia Family) with Domenico Vacca (right).

Remember, you must be opted in to marketing promotions with Centurion to receive these gifts.

Yeah, my wife was able to almost get me 2 ties with that Domenico Vacca gift card. $275 per tie. Kind of ridiculous. The Wynn card is ok, but if you are staying for more than a few days you can probably do better on price through expedia or calling the hotel directly (especially if you’ve stayed there before). Those rooms are always pretty discounted most days and the $500 probably only applies to Amex or rack rates (I didn’t read the details on that one yet since I am not going to Vegas anytime soon).

As another bummer - those of us with ‘business’ centurions have been excluded from these giveaways…I called amex to see if i’d be able to change mine to a personal cent and they said no…i’d have to go from the beginning with a plat personal…spend the 250k…1 year…etc…no thanks!

Not to mention the 5000 initiation fee (even though you are already a centurion customer) and another 2500 up front for the annual fee again.

So, if you want the giveaways, you have to spend 250k all over, and then pay them 7500. To get…. 2 ties.

Sounds like a fantastic deal (not).

Business Centurion holders do not (nor will they ever) receive these promotions or giveaways.

Nothing to do with Amex themselves. The partner company is not interested in people who have 250k of business expenses - they want people who spend 250k shopping personally. That’s their target, and those are the people who they attract with such giveaways.

It’s a different demographic - P.Diddy doesn’t have a business card, he has a personal card. And if you coax P.Diddy into your store with $500 free goods, he may spring for a $4,900 suit (their cheapest suit).

If you get a small business owner who has 20k of office expenses that he habitually charges to his Amex card (to get points, or rebates with kinkos, etc) That type of person will not go into Mikimoto with a $1000 voucher and buy anything for more than that $1000.

That’s the point.

Don’t feel bad. The Vacca gift card was more like a coupon that a gift certificate. At least for $1000 my wife was able to get something very nice at Mikimoto without spending too much out of pocket…
