Amex Concierge Made Vegas Trip Awesome
![]()
I just got back tonight from my first trip to Las Vegas, I really can’t believe I have never been before. As a disclaimer to this post, I am personal platinum card member and used my platinum concierge, I am assuming the Centurion concierge is equal to or better than the platinum concierge.
Since I had never been before, the first thing I did was call my concierge and ask for a little help with the planning since that’s what they’re there for. My concierge put together an overview of the city, its highlights, history, landmarks, must see’s, etc and emailed it to me. It really was an awesome guide to the city. She also sent me a list of popular restaurants and clubs, asked that I tell her which I wanted to go to and she would take care of the rest.
After going through the list I decided I wanted to try Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio in The Venetian. I called my concierge back, told her the day and time, and she took care of the reservations. She also asked if I would like to have a bottle of wine waiting for me when I got there, so I said sure, told her I liked Pinot Noir, and it was done. I showed up to the restaurant, no wait, they took my girlfriend and me right to the table, and had a bottle of Pinot Noir waiting. I couldn’t have asked for better service.
In addition to restaurant reservations, I asked her to put me on the list for Ghost Bar at The Palms for Friday night. She emailed me, confirmed I was on the list ,and gave me the cell number of the VIP host. I showed up at 11PM, walked straight to the front, asked for the host and said my Amex concierge had called ahead for me, and they let us right in. No cover, no wait, it worked out perfectly.
This was my first time using the concierge and I was really impressed at the level of service and offerings they had. My expectations might be lower than some, but I was definitely glad I used them and will continue to use them in the future. I highly recommend getting the Platinum card (if you can’t get the black) to have access to the concierge service. Totally worth it. You can apply for a Platinum card here and get 25k bonus points.
What have your experiences with the concierge service been like?

I can’t believe American Express would put their stamp on such a transparent, underhanded marketing tool as this website. I personally have a more negative view of AMEX after seeing this site. This website is so poorly done, I’m actually wondering if it was automatically generated. I wasn’t fooled for one nanosecond. Do yourself a favor AMEX and fire whatever lackluster marketing agency (if you can even call these phony guerrillas a marketing agency) created this piece of trash. I can only hope that someone within whatever company this is with some semblance of a brain see this message before it’s deleted (if it isn’t deleted automatically too haha). Can stumbleupon please work on a way not to link to this garbage?
Hahaha, that comment made me laugh.
1) I am assuming you found this site from stumble, so thanks to the users who are stumbling this
2) This must have been your first visit here so welcome.
But as an FYI to you, this site is no way owned or endorsed by American Express. They have actually sent me legal notices in the past
I’m also a Platinum Charge Card holder, about to travel to Hong Kong and would like to know if I require the concierge service do I call Platinum Service here in Australia to arrange bookings?
Does the concierge service work well when your travelling overseas?
Anyone have experiences regarding this?
@Kevin
Oh dear, if you do your research properly (WHOIS, IP block lookup you’ll find neither the domain or the IP block is registered to American Express company (I have observed though that they employ the content/edge caching services of Akamai for some of their own sites which do not handle secure info)
I for one find this site rather interesting and while it seems nuts to me what people try to buy with a black card, the reward points do seem worth it.
I am currently an Amex platinum credit card holder and am probably more likely now to apply for the platinum charge card on the basis of the experiences read about here.
@Mitch
Some of us don’t have the knowledge nor the desire to validate the authenticity of a domain. Most of us actually look at the footer for a disclaimer which doesn’t appear on my screen. After hearing that legal notices have been issued to remove impressions of association with AMEX I see that his point is very valid. Then again I bet this comment won’t make it through like my other comments. After all it comes across as a one man’s blog.
Speaking of concierge services, there is actually a new luxury concierge service that opened up in San Diego recently. You do not need to be a member of any type of credit card and they take care of everything from planning vacations to dry cleaning. It is an invitation only service, but you can send them an email and fill out a membership application. The website is password protected but I happened to come across it so feel free to check it out. the password is: rouge
Pretty convienient for anyone that joins!
i have a black card. when someone says, “wow, this card is really thick or heavy.” i just say that i broke a whole bunch of cards so AmEx sent me this one.
I had a kid at SBUX say: Hey man, you should have warned me, I am not supposed to do any heavy lifting on the job.

ADMIN,
I am a Centurion cardholder and I know this may sound really stupid but I was wondering if you could make an entry to ask other Centurion cardholders how they reply when told “wow, this card is really heavy” or “wow, this card is really thick.” These are the #1 and #2 responses I get on a daily basis when using the card over any other responses or comments. Most people have no idea what the card is (I would say maybe 1 out of 10 know what it is when presented) and the others simply make the comments above. I am almost tempted to ask concierge to come up with a list of responses to the comments and figured maybe you can make a post and help out! Thanks.
